The Ksheera Pilot Project is a farmer-focused dairy development initiative implemented by Krishikalpa Foundation to improve dairy farming systems and strengthen rural livelihoods.
The program focuses on supporting small and marginal farmers through scientific dairy management practices, improved cattle health, and market linkages, enabling farmers to increase milk productivity and income.
The initiative is currently being implemented in selected villages in the Vijayapura region with support from BLDE (Deemed to be University) and technical guidance from Akshayakalpa Organic.
The Vijayapura region has long faced drought and low agricultural income.
Irrigation development has helped farmers shift towards horticulture and commercial farming.
Dairy continues to be a major source of income for many families.
Krishikalpa launched the Ksheera Pilot Project to promote better dairy practices and sustainable dairy value chains.
